Hayley is a University of Calgary graduate with a B.Sc. honours degree in Psychology. Going forward, they plan to pursue graduate studies in social work. They have always been passionate about mental health and wellness, especially in adolescents, and is thrilled to be working in a lab focused on this topic. In their six years with the Kopala-Sibley Lab, they have even conducted their own research project investigating how the peer and parental relationships of adolescents impact their structural brain development.
When they aren’t working, Hayley likes taking trips to the farmers market and enjoying the company of their family and friends. They can also be found making music or reading with their book club.
Research Assistants
Reet is a grad from the University of Calgary with her B.Sc. in Psychology. Over the course of her degree, she developed a passion for working with vulnerable populations and being able to provide easily accessible mental health resources for those in need. A major concept she is focused on is being able to help others unlearn biases and stigmas they have grown up with.
Prior to COVID-19, her hobbies included volunteering at her local Gurudwara, riding her bike around the city with her friends, and trying to spend as much time as possible outside of the house. She still rides her bike, but much of her energy has gone into reading and trying to learn new things like cooking and sewing.
Lynn is a recent grad of the University of Calgary with a B.Sc Honours in Neuroscience. Over the course of her undergraduate degree, Lynn found a strong passion for mental health and aspires to pursue medical school with a specialization in psychiatry. She is interested in understanding the pathophysiology and intergenerational influences of internalizing disorders in adolescents.
Outside of work, Lynn enjoys weightlifting, scouting for new places to eat, and spending time with her pets, Mochi and Mocha
Angelica recently graduated from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia with a B.A. in Psychology. Angelica has a particular interest in working with teenagers because she finds joy in helping them navigate the challenges of such a pivotal stage in life. Her dedication to fostering growth and resilience in young people drives her career aspirations and fuels her passion for making a positive difference in their lives.
When she isn’t working, Angelica loves arts and crafts, pottery, skiing, and yoga—her favorite ways to unwind and stay inspired.
